This course provides in-depth coverage of the major New World wine countries. Students will learn the geographical, historical and cultural significance of the wines of the main regions in Canada, the United States, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, South America. Find out how Old World wine regions have influenced these New World regions and how they, in turn, have influenced the Old World. Study the production techniques and styles these young regions have introduced. Greatly expand your knowledge of New World wine regions while tasting premium wines such as: select VQA’s & Ice wine, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon & Chardonnay, Sonoma County Zinfandel, McLaren Vale & Barossa Shiraz, Margaret River Chardonnay, Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, just to list a few, selected to best represent each region.
