We are very pleased to report that Sommelier Program instructor Natale Lofaro has been name Wine Person of the Year for 2007 by the National Capital Sommerlier Guild. Natale, himself a graduate of the Algonquin Sommelier Program, has also completed the University of Guelph’s Ontario Grape & Wine Industry Certificate. This past year, he was awarded the Kirkwood Group Memorial Foundation Award for academic excellence in wine studies. The Ontario Imported Wine-Spirit-Beer Association (OIWSBA) grants this award annually to the person who achieves the highest score of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Diploma, Unit 3 exam.
